Hey, I’m Gemma and I am the proud owner of White Peony Cake Company.

I design, create and bake cakes that represent you as a couple, bringing both of you together to make one statement piece which tastes as incredible as it looks. Baking has always been a passion of mine and I love nothing more than immersing myself in your story.

If I’m not covered in flour and buttercream I’m either enjoying the beach with my little dude, finding an excuse to get dressed up in fancy dress, taking part in CrossFit or singing to Disney around my kitchen.

I trained as a patisserie chef 12 years ago after working as an assistant in a popular cake shop based in Newquay. During my patisserie career, I have spent time working for Rick Stein, as well as undergoing courses and training with the likes of Phil and Christine Jensen (former owners of Peboryon), Couture Wedding Cakes by Sweetcheeks Ltd and Emily Hankins.

The cutting of the cake is one of the first things a married couple will do and I believe it should be a special moment filled with love and happiness. Every bespoke cake I lovingly create is a symbol of all the things I wish for my couples to have in their marriage - beauty, love and fun. As if your love for each other has been baked into the cake itself.
